ARMEN(アーメン)

フランス最西端、ブルターニュ地方の暗礁の中に孤立して立つ灯台、
"Ar-Men”はこの海の安全に重要な役割を果たしています。
海の中の暗礁の上に建設するために土台の工事は波の無い干潮の時間だけを狙って行なわれ、
1867年の着工から14年の歳月を経て1881年にようやく点灯。大変な難工事でした。
遮るものも無く激しい波を受け続けるこの灯台のように厳しい環境にも耐え抜くウェアを。
ワークウェアであるARMENのブランド名にはこのような意味も込められていたに違いありません。

Ar-Men, the lighthouse that stands isolated on the reefs off the coast of Brittany on the west end of France, plays an important role in ensuring the safety of ships at sea.
The construction of this lighthouse, which stands on a reef surrounded by ocean on all sides, was so difficult that it took all of 14 years from commencement of work in 1867 to the lighting of the lamp in 1881, because work could only take place during the ebb tide, when the waves were calm.
The workwear brand ARMEN obviously takes inspiration from this lighthouse, which stands up to uninterrupted battering from the waves. ARMEN symbolizes products that can withstand the harshest working conditions.
